The changes in the Children and Families Act affect the way children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) are supported in schools. The new approach began in September 2014 and placed pupils at the centre of planning. The Hadleigh Pyramid schools have worked collaboratively to coordinate their working approach to these changes. Fundamental to the new SEND Code of Practice (revised 2015) is the belief that children and their families’ involvement are central to securing the best outcomes for pupils with special educational needs.
