Snow Closure Policy

We will let you know as soon as is possible if we have to close the school. It is, however, our intention for the school to remain open when it is safe to. On the day, a decision will be taken early (between 6am - 7am) where possible.  Any decision to close the school is taken after very careful consideration about the safety of the school site and the difficulties of staff getting to school to guarantee supervision of the children.  We also liaise closely with other local schools.

 

Information about school closure will be sent to parents and carers by email and text message via Parent Mail, so it is essential to make sure you have signed up for this service. Information will also appear on the home-page of our website and on a special Suffolk County Council website http://schoolclosures.suffolk.gov.uk (please note that our school is in the Southern Area).  The link is copied below.

 

We will also update our school's website and Facebook page at the earliest opportunity. Please do not ring the school.

 

Our caretaker will grit the paths around the school to make it safe for children to enter and the leave the school. Just so you are aware, it is not practical for us to grit the main playground. Please make sure you monitor your children when dropping off and picking up if they are playing in the main playground.
